Thank you for attending The International Erosion Control Association Australasia and Stormwater Queensland would like to thank participants who attended the 2017 IECA National Conference and Stormwater Queensland Conference which was held from Tuesday, 10th to Friday, 13th October, 2017 at the Pullman Brisbane King George Square. Effective land and water management requires a holistic approach across catchments and the development cycle. But it also throws up challenges – grey areas – that require new or different ways of thinking. This Conference effectively addressed and explored new challenges, encouraged better integration of soil and water management, and promoted engineering and science as complimentary disciplines, as well as celebrated the many succeses of both industries. IECA and Stormwater Queensland would like to thank everyone for attending the 2017 IECA National and Stormwater Queensland Conference. Apology It has been bought to my attention that, as the facilitator of the recent Stormwater Qld/IECA Conference in Brisbane, an anecdote I shared during the Conference relating to my time at university was one that made some people in the audience feel uncomfortable and was thought to be at odds with Stormwater Qld's commitment to gender equity. I have throughout my career been an active advocate for gender equity. I am genuinely sorry. It was never my intention to cause any discomfort and I sincerely apologise to those who may have been offended at that time. Chris Gray, Conference Emcee
